Manso Sahuayo

Manso Sahuayo is a 45% ABV artisanal mezcal made by Zacal from the Manso Sahuayo agave, which grows semi-wild in Michoacán's highlands. It is triple distilled and crafted by Maestro Mezcalero Milton Ramón Ochoa Corona.

Manso Sahuayo is made from the Manso Sahuayo agave, a slow-growing, semi-wild maguey found only in Michoacán's highlands. It is not Espadín, the agave used in most mezcal, and it is rarely sampled outside Mexico.

Manso Sahuayo tastes of creamy almond sweetness and a clean citrus lift, finishing with a delicate, very light smoke. It is smooth enough to sip neat and really sings in a cocktail.

Lightly. Manso Sahuayo has a delicate, very lightly smoked finish, so the smoke supports the almond and citrus rather than leading. If heavy smoke has put you off mezcal before, Manso Sahuayo is a gentler place to start.

Manso Sahuayo is 45% ABV, within the typical mezcal range of 38% to 55%.

Manso Sahuayo is smooth enough to sip neat and interesting enough to use in cocktails such as a mezcal margarita. It is also the mezcal inside Zacalita, Zacal's sparkling mezcal margarita.

Manso Sahuayo is made by Zacal, a premium mezcal brand founded in the UK. Co-founder Milton Ramón Ochoa Corona, a third-generation Maestro Mezcalero, crafts it in Sahuayo, Michoacán, Mexico. His mezcals had never been experienced outside Sahuayo before Zacal.
